Winter is already installed in Mendoza. Jackets, scarves and hats are part of the landscape. In this context, it is common for boys to have their cheeks red and irritated. In many cases this situation is due to a reaction of skin sensitivity in genetically predisposed children, who along with other factors, determine the atopic dermatitis.

What is atopic dermatitis?

Atopic dermatitis, or also known as atopic ESCEM is one of the reactions that are often seen in the skin of children and is characterized by swelling, redness, scaling and crusting, which in infants are preferentially located in the face (forehead and cheeks), scalp, diaper area, arms and legs.

Typically these children have very dry skin and itching is very important, which is manifested by the tendency to scratch, often waking the child at night and putting irritable. Approximately 80% of cases, this box appears when there is a history of allergy in the family, such as mom or dad have had or have asthma, dermatitis, allergic rhinitis or urticaria, and therefore the baby inherits the susceptibility allergic.

A healthy cooking is a good start to improving your health. A preparation for eating healthy makes your daily meals healthier and tastier. Cooking healthy does not mean you must become a chef or invest in expensive cookware.

3 tips to cook more healthy:

1) Use fats wisely for healthy food
All fats are not bad. Choose unsaturated fats (like olive oil) instead of saturated fats (like butter). But use good fats in moderation anyway, because all fats (whether good or bad) are loaded with calories.

2) Buy unprocessed foods to your kitchen
Choose whole grains instead of processed grains. Whole grains and brown rice come bulgur have kept their sound intact and therefore provide more fiber, B vitamins, magnesium, zinc and other nutrients.

3) Incorporate more fruits and vegetables for a healthy cooking
Most people do not consume enough. Try to include between 5 and 13 servings of fruit per day to your cooking. Choose fruits and vegetables of various colors to meet your needs in antioxidants and vitamins.

Adults and children alike tend to connect to the computer or TV for several hours per day. This can lead to snacking unconscious, coupled with inactivity, can cause the medium to long term weight gain and other health problems linked to obesity among various family members.

So, what can you do to keep your heart is still healthy?

Teach your children how to make the kitchen
Another way to create a good time to spend with family is to teach your children like to cook. Involve them in planning the weekly menu for the whole family, food purchases in the preparation of meals for the family.

During these moments spent together, you can teach your children healthy food choices, how to read labels, portion control. In doing so, you raise children who will grow up and become adults who love to cook healthy meals.

Do not reward your children with food
It is a usual temptation to want to reward your children for ice cream or sweets when they did well at school or when they do something you enjoy. By rewarding your children with food, you make them take a bad habit.

Instead, take your children to the cinema to see a film, allow them to spend more time with their friends, praise them verbally acknowledge their achievement in a way that does not include food.

The fear of food poisoning has made many parents are more aware of the dangers of poor hygiene in all aspects of food. Saying goes that the best way to win a war is avoided.

That’s what happens with bacteria. Sanitation and hygiene are the best strategies and tactics to combat them. These attacks before they penetrate the human body. In this field the weapons are usually simple and inexpensive. And the very effective fighter. When preparing food, one must:

Tips to clean out the food of children and babies

- Wash hands, surfaces and utensils with water (preferably hot) and plenty of soap. This includes food stores, even the fridge, because some bacteria such as Listeria monocytogenes can grow slowly at refrigerator temperatures.- Some foods such as meat, poultry, fish or ready to eat foods like hot dogs, sausages that are dried or dried fermented and soft cheeses such as brie may contain dangerous bacteria. Therefore, the best strategy is to keep separate these foods from fruits, vegetables, breads and generally of all foods that are ready to eat.

- Avoid eating, if possible, raw food, especially meat, poultry, seafood and vegetables. These foods should be cooked to safe temperatures. This implies that even cooked, to reheat it right until steaming, or are liquids such as milk, until boiling.

- Cool, refrigerate or freeze food, is another essential practice to prevent contamination by bacteria in perishable foods, marinated, prepared or leftovers. This process must take place before within two hours and in small quantities and stored in shallow containers for quick cooling. That the refrigerator should not be filled too so that cold air can circulate properly and kept in good food. And that the thawing process is not done at room temperature, but under running cold water (or have one in the microwave) to make the process as quickly as possible.

- Always use a clean cloth or paper towels to dry the dishes, or let them dry on a rack after they are rinsed with hot water.

- Keep tightly closed on garbage. Empty it frequently and rinse with hot water and some disinfectant every time you flush

Nothing better than a massage to take care of your baby. To relax, and show all your love and affection. Infant massage has a name: Shantala. Known as therapeutic massage for children. Its origin lies in India, where a Frenchman obstetrician, Dr. F. Leboyer, was watching a mother massaging your baby.

The doctor was delighted with the strength of their movements, and the benefits they gave the baby, and decided to import the west and baptize the entire sequence of movements with the name of the woman: Shantala. Since then the massage is part of many corporate behavior.

According to Dr. F. Leboyer, be loaded, rocked, caressed, touched, massaged, each one of those things is food to young children, so indispensable, but more than just vitamins, minerals and proteins. If he is deprived of all that, and the smell and voice so well known to the child, even when fed milk, it will starve.

Infant massage done with children to be calm, gain strength in the body peacefully in sleep, and have a positive psychological development. One of the favorite moments of the babies. During the massage, babies feel a nice feeling because it’s not just the touch of fur, but also to feel sensations through hearing, smell and vision.

If massage is part of a daily routine, the baby will know, for example, that after bathing and before you put your clothes, someone (either the mother or father or someone else) will provide long-awaited moment. Hearing his mother rubbing his hands with oil or cream, the baby will now be prepared to live the pleasant experience of massage.

In these few minutes, the baby will find peace and enjoy the enormous pleasure. Most babies love physical contact. No wonder that massages have a very calming and relaxing effect to them.
