Information on Diabetes

Causes of Diabetes:

Apparently there is a strong hereditary factor that predisposes to both types of diabetes. However, as with many hereditary factors the presence of environmental factors may provide adequate conditions for this bias manifests itself or on the contrary can help prevent the condition occurring. Obesity and excessive consumption of fats are precipitating factors in type II diabetes. It is suspected that in both types of diabetes, but particularly on type I autoimmune processes may be involved. These are processes in which immune system cells that attack should be aimed at viruses or bacteria, they attack our own body.

Symptoms of Diabetes:

Both types of diabetes produce a variety of symptoms including thirst and hunger are constant and excessive production of urine. In type I diabetes also can produce significant weight loss.

Treatment of Diabetes:

Both diabetes type 1 and type 2, as in gestational goal is to restore normal blood glucose levels between 70 and 105 mg / dl. In type 1 diabetes and gestational diabetes applies insulin replacement therapy or insulin analogues. In type 2 diabetes can be applied insulin replacement therapy or the like, or treatment with oral agents.
To determine if adequate treatment is working is performed a test called glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c or A1c). A person has a Non-diabetic HbA1c & lt;6%. Treatment should bring the results of A1c as possible to these values.
