Constitute the majority of known cause chronic hives.

Special Features

1. Are clinically measurable or quantifiable, because the stimuli that cause so are to play in the diagnosis.

2. They tend to be immediate (onset in minutes) and short (after an hour tend to disappear). As an exception we delayed pressure urticaria.

3. In the majority of cases are located at the site of stimulation.

4. They tend to be reproducible challenge test clinically well defined, which makes diagnosis and control. Physical Urticaria

5. They usually affect young adults, with a preference for females.

6. Manifest no obvious triggers v tend to resolve spontaneously over time, except in family forms (very rare).

7. The etiology or cause is unknown, although some associations with other diseases. There is a higher incidence of family or personal atopy. Some have a genetic basis or relative, the majority of autosomal dominant transmission.

8. Among them are associated with some frequency, and also with other types of urticaria.

9. Angioedema may occur in cold urticaria, pressure, vibration and more rarely, cholinergic.

10. With light stimuli presented clinical Mild itching or erythema isolated.

Physical Treatment of Hives

Generally should be avoided triggering mechanisms.

As drug treatment used second-generation antihistamines (Loratadine Cetirizina.. Ebastine. Mizolastine. Fexofenadine), if no improvement is through the first generation such as hydroxyzine, or an antidepressant effect in urticaria as doxepin is.

Today allergy to nuts can be considered an important condition because it usually manifests at a young age and large numbers of cases lasts a lifetime.

Almonds, chestnuts, hazelnuts, walnuts, etc can cause symptoms in people even without consuming them simply by skin contact or inhalation.

1. Did you know?

They are named (nuts) due to suffering from drying during processing. Different plant species are included, but are characterized by being rich in protein and fat and have less than 50% water. It is advisable to wait until 3 or 4 years to make the nuts in the diet of children.

Since these are a very allergenic foods and we should be cautious when the demos for the first time to our children. Allergy to nuts is an abnormal response of body to the protein found in nuts. After the fish and seafood, nuts are the foods most often cause food allergies in the population.

This allergy can be caused by a single nut or by a group of them. Then we can find a group who are allergic to nuts (hazelnut, almond and peanut), allergic to peanuts and vegetables, allergic to pistachio and cashew nuts, so much so that 25-35% of people with allergies to peanuts are also walnut, cashew or pistachio.

The symptoms result from mild, in which case there is a rash, nausea, headache, swollen lips and tongue, to severe which sometimes occurs with anaphylactic shock (sudden and severe allergic reactions that occur in several problems at once, which can affect the skin, respiration, digestion, heart and blood vessels).

The onset of symptoms may be immediate or delayed several hours after being consumed. Cross-reactions may also occur (latex and some nuts such as chestnuts, walnuts, sunflower seeds and pine nuts). In many instances children allergic to eggs are also nuts.

What is Allergy?

An allergy is an exaggerated response of our organism, when in contact with certain substances from outside. Substances capable of causing an allergic reaction are called allergens or simply allergens.

How do you get?

The immune response is of great importance but sometimes causes serious problems:

In organ transplants (kidney, heart, lung …) our immune system identifies the new organ as foreign and try to put in place to combat it, if not the rejection medications are given to reduce this response (called immunosuppressants).

Sometimes confuses the immune system components of our body with foreign elements and starts a reaction against them leading to the autoimmune diseases (many rheumatic conditions are the origin).

Sometimes it produces an immune response in the presence of harmless substances to the body, which are usually tolerated by it. This overreaction is called allergy and the substances are allergens that trigger. The potential allergens are very numerous and may contact us through various means:

The air we breathe: plant pollens, house dust, fungi, animal hair … Food: fish, eggs, nuts, … Drugs: penicillin, aspirin, … Insect stings, bites, … Skin contact: cosmetics, industrial products …

Symtomps

Gastrointestinal: diarrhea, abdominal pain.

Eyes: conjunctivitis (redness and itching).

Nose: rhinitis (itchy and watery mucus secretion).

Skin: urticaria (hives and itching) or eczema.

Lung: asthma (bronchial obstruction).

Treatment And Recommendations

The cells that compose the immune system (macrophages and T cells and B) when in contact with a foreign substance to the (allergen or antigen) initiated a series of reactions that culminate in the formation of molecules called immunoglobulins (Ig) or antibodies that bind to the allergen and, through various mechanisms, get their destruction and disposal.

These immunoglobulins can be 5 different types: IgG, IgA, IgM, IgD, and IgE. IgE and, less frequently, IgG type 4 are those involved in type I allergic reaction characteristic of asthma and most allergies. People allergic to a substance (allergen) present on the surface of mast cells (blood cells) multiple IgE molecules capable of recognizing the presence of the substance.

This IgE was formed in previous contacts with the allergen that caused the sensitization to the same. That is, they formed the memory cells (memory B cells) which, upon contact with that allergen again, order the production of large amounts of specific IgE against that allergen. At the time the binding of IgE with the allergen (like a key and lock it were) will cause the release by the mast of a large number of substances (histamine, serotonin, bradykinin mediators known as …), Allergy They alone determine the manifestations of allergic reaction in different organs. Occur in the lung inflammation of the lining of the bronchial wall and contraction of the muscle fibers, resulting in an asthma attack.
